FROM THE CATATONIC TO THE CATASTROPHIC

Ah to be a cat..... they rule their own little world and blissfully ignore all the dangers. And worse, they know they rule their owners.

I was listening to Vermont radio and a comedian came on and told the following story: "Husbands if you want to find out whether your wife on Valentine's loves you or her cat more try the following: 1) shred her favorite red dress, then 2) pee on her favorite carpet; then 3) sleep as long as you like, get up whenever you feel like it; 4) then go out at night, and come back whenever you like and then see if 5) your wife comes to the door and says to you "Oh honey there you are, I am so glad to see you, I was so worried about you!"

Vote for your favorite cat picture below.

  1. No cats in my house, hubby gets all the love! I love those pics though and it's truly hard to pick a favorite. I'm leaning towards the kitty in the shoe! A fun read I'll be sure to pass on!

The word verification is - remorse - on Valentine's Day, LOL!!

  2. Normally, I'd vote for the kitten asleep in the food or the one in the slipper.

Since it is Valentine's Day, I'll vote for the two orange tabbies sleeping together.

  3. I never met a cat I didn't love. My vote for the picture is the black and white hanging over the fence. He has the same figure I do. Fluffy!

  7. I like the miserable looking one in the shower. :) My second favorite is the one sleeping across the window grate.

  11. I have two cats, one a red tabby Himalayan who runs to the shower every morning and waits for me to come join him. He departs as soon as the water becomes too much for him. I was taken aback the first time this happened but now, I just go ahead and let him decide when to get in the shower and when to leave. I would love a picture or video of him doing this but, of course, I am not adequately dressed to allow for it.

I vote for the two yellow kitties sleeping nose to nose although I think they are all cute pics. I love dogs and cats and always have had at least two of these creatures in the family.

  13. Gotta go with the shower pic. What fool gets into a shower naked with a cat? Sure hope the cat was declawed.

One error in your second sentence. It is dogs who have owners. Cats have staff.

As I frequently tell my 17 year old tabby, cats are God's sign to us that not everything in nature serves a purpose. To which he responds that God may have made man a little lower than the angels but angels are considerably lower than cats.

  14. I like the grey cat asleep on top of the dog...he looks just like my Maggie.(Except Maggie has little ears and a short tail because of frostbite she got before we got her.)

  21. I'm particular to the cat sleeping on the suitcase. I have a little tom that I find constantly sleeping on my suitcase after I come home from a trip. We have 7 cats. Five are ancient. We have, in effect, a nursing home for cats.
