How do you interpret "forsaking the assembly"? Missing on Sunday? What frequency of attendance is expected before this verse is relevant? Is two or three gathered relevant here?
?
RobUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01539713951991230405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11840313.post-46595801218996104452007-07-13T11:34:00.000-07:002007-07-13T11:34:00.000-07:00Hi Ben:Thank u for ur email. The exhortation from Hebrews applies-- do not neglect the gather of yourselves together in one place.

BW3Ben Witheringtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06017701050859255865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11840313.post-75137481561535909012007-07-12T06:22:00.000-07:002007-07-12T06:22:00.000-07:00Uh, interesting.But should I assume that you're no...Uh, interesting.

But should I assume that you're not encouraging the thoughts of leaving an "offline" church for an online one right?zefirielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11792895283256095075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11840313.post-29982009963568744832007-07-12T05:26:00.000-07:002007-07-12T05:26:00.000-07:00In the pre-social social networking days Ship of F...In the pre-social social networking days Ship of Fools (shipoffools.com or) came out with the Church of Fools (http://specialmoves.com/portfolio/church-of-fools/index.html) now renamed St. Pixels (stpixles.com) and run by the Methodist Church of Great Britain. I checked it out when it was first around on shipoffools.com; it was more of a virtual church with scheduled services and sermons. Im not sure what it is like now but then it was an interesting idea which seemed ahead of its time. Currently there are scheduled services, prayer times, bible studies. It seems like more of a church in that sense then a social network, though there is plenty of that.
Coming from a Lutheran background I worry about where these forms substituting for local churches and the lack of the sacraments within the virtual churches.Kurt Beardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02832386372065284404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11840313.post-36125525140970533162007-07-11T23:11:00.000-07:002007-07-11T23:11:00.000-07:00I run a large Christian IRC network. The oldest user I have seen is 76. There is a wide range beyond that from teen through middle-aged adults. Having done this for almost nine years, I am aware and cautious of the downsides, yet thankful for the upside of web-based communities.

Blessings,

Glen WoodsGlen Alan Woodshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00324285677649912670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11840313.post-51766028127887091252007-07-11T20:29:00.000-07:002007-07-11T20:29:00.000-07:00I had no idea that these websites existed!
